The National Latino Cosmetology Association founded in 2010. After working behind the chair and on location with friends and photographers, Julie Zepeda prides herself as an expert in many aspects of the professional beauty industry and has molded her career around honesty and integrity. From early on her family instilled core values and leadership skills, along the encouragement to believe in the responsibilities of entrepreneurship. She is known to go the extra mile for her professional career in the industry, her expertise is extensive and world class. During this time that she realized what little support existed for Latinos working in the beauty industry. The lack of Spanish language education, learning materials, and media for the Latino beauty professionals, this inspired her to start the National Latino Cosmetology Association a designated Non-profit organization in 2010, and in 2011 the NLCA Foundation a designated Non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization; both organizations are recognized by the Department of Treasury of the United States of America.
